Dr. DeJongh grew up in small town Rock Valley, Iowa before starting college at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. After graduating with honors and degrees in both biology and music, Dr. DeJongh attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR. During his time in optometry school, he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society, president of the Pacific Pratice Management Club and the recipient of the VSP/ AAOF Pratice Excellence Award. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and has interests in ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatric and primary care optometry.
Dr. DeJongh is a member of the Madison Kiwanis Club. In his free time, Dr. DeJongh enjoys teaching and performing music, especially on jazz drum set. He has been an active musician since his time as the drummer for his church worship team in middle school. Dr. DeJongh has since performed with many professional musical ensembles across the country and enjoys volunteering his love of music for community and charity events. He also enjoys reading and learning about American History. When he has down time he loves to give his cat, Rho, attention and good scratches.
